Outlook 2010 keeps closing and restarting when reading messages

Does anybody know why Outlook 2010 keeps closing and restarting when reading messages? This happens with some e-mails when I try to read them - either using the reading pane or, if the reading pane is off, when I double-click on a message to read it. It only happens with some messages and seems to be consistently messages from the same senders. It happens instantly as soon as the message content is displayed. I have tried disabling all add-ins but this has not solved the problem. Currently the only add-ins enabled are two published by Kaspersky. Please help - this is driving me nuts!!!

Have you checked the source code of the message? Use Save as, HTML with the message selected in the message list. /You could use read as plain (options, trust center) but i don't think you can get the source code when using read as plain. Outlook shouldn't crash with plain text.

Hello,

I seem to be having this problem too & it's stopping me from being able to work.

I'm using Windows Vista Business SP 2 & Outlook 2010

Looking into the Event Log, I see the following:

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 14.0.4760.1000, time stamp 0x4ba8fefd, faulting module USP10.DLL, version 1.626.7600.20602, time stamp 0x4b304c27, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00027466, process id 0x1cc0, application start time 0x01cb5afb73a09ce0.

This happens whenever I use the reading pane & moave between or try to delete emails. If I turn the reading pane off, it'll take me several hours to go through my emails each day.

I've disabled all add-ins & the problem keeps coming.

Can you please point me to a solution?

I have the same issue as Samibouni - the problem is the USP10.dll file:

Id. de configuración regional: 3082

Información adicional del problema:
LCID: 1033

I'm using Panda 2011, but the emails are causing the crash on all systems I have 2010 on, all te same ones, and usually those sent in Plain Text (mostly with attachments as well). I looked up the USP10 and discovered its something called Uniscribe for Unicode rendering - none of my add-ins are the problem, as I had the same problems in Safe Mode.

Any suggestions?

Some word on this would be very useful as I can't go back to Outlook 2007 & I can't check my email without Outlook restarting each time I move between emails.

I am using 64 bit system and having same problem since reinstalling Win 7 and Outlook 2010.

Start to open an email and the system closes down and restarts.

Was quite stable under Office 2003. but now greys out and restarts without any warning.

Using IE8 and also see similar effects there and with other applications - where the screen greys and MS Message advises there is an error and goes looking to find an answer before advising to close the program.

Seems to be an interface problem with Office 2010 as the affected applications were all stable with Office 2003 - including the 64 bit version of Nuance PDF Converter.

This is a unicode file.

Have you tried to repair the office install?

What version of Windows?

Do you have any errors in Event viewer?

Very specifically, this is an issue with older versions of Adobe Times or Helevetica. Word also was crashing when this font was being used in documents. Adobe released a newer version, but I can't find the URL anywhere. Updating the fonts to this newer version fixed the Outlook and Word crashing in every instance here.

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86033.html

This only provides half the font, though. You will need to use your .PFB and use the .PFM in the download to replace what you have.
