Tasks Opens with Latest Due Date Selected

Always when I open Tasks on Outlook 2003 (Win 7), the latest task due (2014 at the bottom of the Tasks list) is preselected, so I always have to scroll way back to the top to the nearest due date. This may be a new problem since I installed and then uninstalled Outlook 2010, reinstalling 2003. Any ideas on how to correct this minor but still pesky nuisance?

You can use the cleanreminders switch which Clears and regenerates reminders.

Exit Outlook, clickStart, point to Run, type outlook /cleanreminders, and then click OK.

Is the problem with the reminder window or the main tasks folders? Cleanreminders won't help with the main tasks window but resetting the view might. Right click on the row of field names and choose Custom from the menu - then reset. If that doesn't help, what sort order do you use?

I am new to this discusion setup and am not sure whether you are replying to my post. If you are, I don't show any cleanreminder term on my system. I don't have Start/run on Win 7, but the search window works with msconfig just like the xp 'run' did. But using Windows Search and then also Search Everywhere I get no cleanreminder term. I use the Custom Sort regularly because I accidentally hit the strip that re-sorts by date, etc. With several different sorts, I still get the bottom default for the scroll bar. Thanks for your help. I hope I can find my way back to this forum.

I don't know exactly what worked, but I did many different things with the Custom options. It may be that I switched from Simple List to Detailed List. There might have been a character size issue somewhere because when I switched the character size reverted to some default. Thanks to everyone for sending me in the right direction!
