I have been using Outlook 2007 since 2007. Suddenly this morning, I started getting this error message saying:

You can connect to the temporary mailbox or work offline with all of your

old data. If you choose to work with your old data, you cannot send or

receive e-mail messages.

[Use Temporary Mailbox] [Use Old Data] [Cancel]

I have searched for this issue and the most common answer(the only one) is to delete the account and re-ad it as new. I have done this and it still isnt working. I can use my email with the [Use Temportary Mailbox] and it has all of my emails in my {inbox} but I dont have my folders that I have created, which is many. If I chose [Use Old Data] I can see my old folders, but this is only offline with no option to place it online instead.

My email is from a pop server. And we are working off a MS2003 server. No one in the office of 6 people have had this issues. We have had several issues with security with our ISP, but their tier 2 says it is a MS Outlook issue. This is driving me crazy, please, please help!

thanks,

Vicky

You have a POP3 server AND an Exchange 2003 server? Have you asked the administrator of your Exchange 2003 server about this?

Sorry, I must have worded that incorrectly. I have a POP3 email on my Outlook. Pulling email from a [comcast.net] email account and we have a MS 2003 Server, but do not use it to host our email. We stopped using the server to host our email when our server administrator errored and mistakenly shut the security down on the server for a month and we were hugely blacklisted. So we went to an outside source to host our email. Our ISP now hosts our email. and we are really not working much with the company who set up our server since then and just flying by the seat of our pants on things. We have not found a new IT company for major things yet. I am trying to do what I can in the interim. We are a small non-profit organization and really need to watch our pennies. We really dont use the server for any email issues at all. I just noticed that other people who seemed to be having the same issue also had a MS 2003 server, not knowing if that was a component of this issue or not, I did note that in my original question.

Back to the original question. When I open Outlook in the [Use Temporary Mailbox] it begins to download every email that is in my POP3 account AGAIN. I have to quickly stop it or I will have duplicate and triplicates of every email in my outbox. This is a huge issue for me. I realize it is small for you who know these products, but I am not able to conduct our business without this. From the business portal online I am unable to send any attachments or open any attachments that are sent to me by our members. Even if anyone knows where I should go for an answer to this issue...it would be greatly appreicated.

thank you,

vicky

Ah. So the issue is that whenever you start Outlook it downloads all of your mail from your POP3 server again?

If that's the case try logging into the webmail for your POP3 account and delete the oldest message on the list (which you should already have at least one or two copies of in Outlook). It may be corrupt and causing the issue.

How often do you have Outlook set to check your POP3 e-mail during the day? Not more often than every 5 minutes hopefully? (10 might be better)

Well, I did take care of that issue. I went to [options] and unclicked the box 'automatically send/recieve every__ minutes. Every 3 minutes it was resending all of my emails from my POP3 Accout, around 3900 of them. Even if I had deleted them or placed them in a different folder. Now I manually hit the send/recieve button and 'cancel the send recieve' before it adds yet another copy of (already recieved emails) in my OL.

The original issue is still active, sorry I tend to add more wood to the fire I am trying to put out. The original issue is: I am getting this error message whenever I open OL saying:

You can connect to the temporary mailbox or work offline with all of your

old data. If you choose to work with your old data, you cannot send or

receive e-mail messages.

[Use Temporary Mailbox] [Use Old Data] [Cancel]

I have searched for this issue and the most common answer(the only one) is to delete the account and re-ad it as new. I have done this and it still isnt working. If I chose [Use Old Data] I can see my old folders, but this is only offline with no option to place it online instead.

Please any suggestions would be grately appriciated!

Thanks,

Vicky

I did create one with a new profile name, I added my middle initial. Sorry, tried that. Still not understanding this issue. Thanks anyway!

I should also say that the day prior to this starting, my OL was not responding very well. It took forever to do most everything.

Thanks,

Vicky
