Please refer to earlier posting about other related problem for more detail.

All my imported emails from Windows Live Mail, when clicked on have a pop up " " A custom form can not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form instead. The object could not be found." The problem was answered earlier: " You need change the IPM.Note form. Get DocMessageClass and run it on the inbox." again by Diane Paremsky. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/outlook/thread/ae1bf7ac-18a3-43b3-b7f3-286cfb6b95fb [For some strange reason it's necessary to make Outlook your default mail client for this to work. ] What makes matters worse is that these emails don't allow you to right click on them and bring up a menu to either copy, move, etc either.

These pop ups only happen with exports from Windows Live Mail. Didn't occur with exports from Outlook Express (which has my email archives from 2009 and earlier). These show up as IPM.Note when I look via DocMessageClass. I tried to run DocMessageClass to change the class for the Windows Live Mail imports, but it doesn't work.

" How do I use DocMessageClass?

To enable these older contacts to use the new form, each contact's
MessageClass has to be changed. Select the relevant Outlook-Folder in
the folders list. (Folders which are setup to use a user-defined form,
are displayed with a green tag). Now select one or more Source-
MessageClasses and one Target-MessageClass. After clicking on the
" Convert MessageClass" button, each entry which belonged to the
Source-MessageClass, will have been be re-assigned to the Target-

I do not know what the problem happens to be:

I click on " Show Folders" button when I exe DocMessageClass.

Then it shows

Current MessageClass IPM.Note

Default MessageClass IPM.Note

I then click on the imported folder I want in the left panel to change the class and it shows up in Change Message Class from: ???? (shows up after I select folder)

Next is a drop down box and you can only select: ???? (added when I selected the folder) or IPM.Note

Then there is a button to click to Convert MessageClass except it's grayed out and can't use it. I also have zero idea what this IPM.Note happens to be and zero related to these MessageClasses. I don't use forms and I don't get forms via email so I have no idea why this is happening in the first place.

Can anyone, maybe Diane Paremsky, tell me what I am doing wrong? I really do need to get rid of the popups.

I have similar problem. DocMessageClass also return similar output. In my case, I create exchange online email account for testing purpose, then the popup appear. Converting this account to chached exchange mode totaly eliminate the popup issue. out of curiosity i converted it back to online mode & definitely the popup return. i'm not sure wheter it really because of the message class thingie :p

Thanks. I am a newbie to Outlook so I'll have to look up what is " cached exchanged mode" . Thanks for the suggestion.
