We are performing a migrtion from Exchange 2003 sp2, to Exchange 2010 sp1 rollup 1. The exchange servers are in seperate AD forests. All clients before the migration are running outlook 2003 and 2007, after the migration they will be running Outlook 2010. One of the requirments of the migration is that we migrate the users outlook 2003/2007 profile to outlook 2010. What we are noticing after a user and mailbox gets migrated over to the 2010 org, is once the user logs into the workstation and opens the outlook profile, and because we migrated the outlook profile over, its pointing to the 2003 server, so what happens is the outlook client is not able to connect to the exchange 2010 server. We have configured autodiscover and all Exchange web services url's correctly, and i know its working, because for new outlook profiles, autodiscover is able to configure the client.
I am thinking this is not an issue with autodiscover, but the fact that the outlook profile has already been configured so autodiscover is not kicking in
