Actual Database Size?

Is there a way to tell what the database size is minus the whitespace (i.e. actual usable space not .edb size)? I have moved several mailboxes off a database and would like to know how much is actually used/free. I cannot take the drive offline for a defrag. In previous versions of Exchange there would be an event ID 1221 (I think) which would tell you this info, but I don't see any of these.

Thanks in advance.

It's easier in E2010:

Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | Select AvailableNewMailboxSpace

That's ok; it would be suggested to move mailboxes to a new DB, then delete the existing one anyways. :)Microsoft Premier Field Engineer, Exchange

Thanks Alixei. That does look like it shows available space within all our databases, however it doesnt list which database has what. Am I supposed to just assume its in order by mailbox name? Below is the output I receive.

AvailableNewMailboxSpace

----------------------
315.2 MB (330,530,816 bytes)

50.88 MB (53,346,304 bytes)

10.19 MB (10,682,368 bytes)

2.219 MB (2,326,528 bytes)

Thanks!

You can modify the command to show the database name, as follows:

Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | Select Name, AvailableNewMailboxSpace
