I am trying to create a User Defined Drop-Down List Field for a custom contact form in Outlook 2010. Picture an Outlook 2010 Contact with the following fields:

Full Name:

Company:

Business Phone:

Email:

Relationship: (User Defined Field)

When I add a new contact, I will manually fill in the Contact's Full Name, Company, Business Phone and Email, but when I come to the User Defined "Relationship" Field, I want a drop-down list where I can select one of the following:

Employee

Contractor

Visitor

Other

Can anyone explain how to create this Drop-Down List Field for a Outlook 2010 Custom Contact Form?

If you edit the front page, you'll lose the eye candy and revert to the old gray form... just so you know. :)

You'll add a combobox control, right click on it and choose properties. On the value tab, add a new text field then at the bottom in the possible values field, type in the values you want to offer. A quickie video with no sound (family is asleep, i'll add sound tomorrow :)) http://www.screencast.com/t/90MnxE7U

Thanks, Diane. You have been most helpful. I have been trying to figure out how to do that for two weeks. One question, though: Do I have to show both the combo box and the new text field on my contact form?

no, it doesn't need to be on the form. you need the text field to store the data but you don't have to add it to the form.
